App Setup

The RoboX mobile app enables users to join missions, collect data, and track their rewards in real time. The app is designed for minimal setup and continuous operation with low power consumption.


Download and Installation

iOS

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone

  2. Search for "RoboX"

  3. Tap "Get" to download and install

  4. Wait for installation to complete

Requirements:

  • iOS 15.0 or later

  • iPhone 8 or newer (older devices lack required sensors)

  • ~100 MB storage space

Android (Coming Soon)

Android support is in development. Join the waitlist at robox.to/waitlist to be notified when Android is available.


Permissions Setup

The app will request permissions based on available campaigns. You can grant or deny each permission. Denying limits which campaigns you can join.

You can change permissions anytime in iOS Settings > RoboX.


Joining Your First Campaign

  1. Open the app and tap the "Campaigns" tab

  2. Browse available campaigns in your region

  3. Tap a campaign to view details:

    • What data is collected

    • Compensation rate

    • Duration

    • Any special requirements

  4. If requirements are met, tap "Join Campaign"

  5. Grant any additional permissions requested

  6. Collection begins automatically


During Collection

What to Expect

  • The app runs in the background, no need to keep it open

  • A small indicator may appear in your status bar (varies by iOS version)

  • Battery impact is typically 5-10% additional drain over a full day

  • Data uploads automatically when connected to Wi-Fi

Monitoring Progress

Check the app to see:

  • Active campaigns and their status

  • Data collected so far

  • Estimated compensation

  • Any issues requiring attention

Pausing Collection

To pause collection temporarily:

  1. Open the app

  2. Tap the active campaign

  3. Tap "Pause Collection"

  4. Collection stops until you resume

Pausing doesn't affect already-collected data. Use this if you need to conserve battery or are entering an area where you don't want to collect.


Wallet Setup

To receive compensation, link a USDC-compatible wallet:

  1. Tap the "Earnings" tab

  2. Tap "Set Up Wallet"

  3. Choose your wallet type:

    • I have a wallet: Enter your Ethereum or Solana address

    • I need a wallet: Follow in-app guide to create one

  4. Confirm your address (double-check for accuracy, incorrect addresses cannot be recovered)

  5. Wallet is linked and ready to receive payouts


Troubleshooting

App Not Collecting Data

  • Check that location permission is set to "Always"

  • Ensure the campaign is still active (not paused or ended)

  • Verify you're in the campaign's geographic region

  • Restart the app

High Battery Drain

  • Reduce number of active campaigns

  • Check if a campaign requires intensive sensors (camera, LiDAR)

  • Ensure iOS is updated to latest version

Data Not Uploading

  • Check Wi-Fi connection

  • Ensure sufficient storage space

  • Try manual upload from Campaign Details

Validation Failures

  • Review campaign requirements

  • Check for sensor issues (are all required sensors working?)

  • Ensure continuous collection (frequent starts/stops reduce quality)
